I met Kristina during high school at a nerdy JSA convention. We were definitely nerds, but we were creative ones, and those being a shortage at student debates, we spotted each other pretty easily and hit it off. We fell out of touch in college but recently discovered that we still have a lot in common including a passion for food, music and charming girls like Desiree. They are such a wonderful couple, and I’m thrilled to be shooting their wedding in August.
It’s been raining all week in the Bay Area, but we caught last little bit of San Francisco sun for Mary and Luigi’s engagement shoot last weekend. We strolled along the Embarcadero then went for some delectable treats in the Ferry Building. Nothing says love like Miette cupcakes and a meat cone from Boccalone!

I am really looking forward to photographing Denise and Matt’s wedding next month. My assistant/second shooter Cheryll and I met the beautiful couple and their adorable boys at Matt’s favorite park, which had a stunning view of San Francisco and plenty of room for the little ones to run around!
Denise’s mom came by to pick up the boys, at which point Cheryll and I remarked on the great genes that obviously run in this family! We were left with Matt and Denise, and it was time for romantic, kissy shots…
except that it was the beginning of Shark Week, so we had to snap this. Ok guys, for reals this time!
Getting my gear together to shoot Brian and Jenn’s wedding. They are an adorable couple, as you can tell, and if their homemade giant Jenga set and power tool engagement session is any indication, this wedding should be a blast.

Vivien and Gunther are a really fun couple, as you can probably from these terrifically silly, Valentine-themed engagement photos. We visited the restaurant where they got engaged and frolicked in a nearby park.
Oh, remember how I called them “silly” earlier? Engagement ring thumb war!
I did this engagement shoot for Katie and Cary before knowing that I was going to be their wedding photographer, or that I’d play the ukulele during their ceremony, or that I’d spend the week in between their big day and San Diego Comic Con in their great company, in Vegas. Some friends are worth a trip to the moon and back, or in this case, Vegas.
In anticipation of their “fancy hat” old-timey wedding, I fired off a roll of film as well. Not everyone wants an engagement photo reminiscent of Dorothea Lange, but I would, and I knew Katie would. Here is my best attempt.
